As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to work directly with clients, providing commercial and cost management support throughout the full project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping clients manage budgets, mitigate risk and maximise value across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will gain exposure to a wide range of developments while working within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost plans, budgets and feasibility estimates at all project stages.
- Produce detailed cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
- Manage tender processes, including contractor procurement and tender analysis.
- Review and negotiate contractor submissions and contract documentation.
- Provide value engineering advice while maintaining design intent and project objectives.
- Assess and manage project variations and change control procedures.
- Carry out interim valuations and agree final accounts.
- Monitor project expenditure and proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Support clients with CAPEX forecasting and development appraisals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and consultants.
- Assist with the successful commercial delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Experience within a consultancy, contractor or client-side environment.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement routes and contract administration.
- Experience producing cost plans, tender documentation and cost reports.
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard cost management tools.
Desirable
- MRICS qualified or currently working towards chartership.
- Experience within hospitality, retail, leisure or commercial fit-out sectors.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out or rollout projects.
