The Client
My client is a fast-growing furniture rental and home staging business with a circular, design-led ethos. They help spaces feel lived-in - styling homes for sale, furnishing developments, and putting beautiful, borrowed pieces into people's homes without the commitment of ownership. They work with estate agents, developers, landlords and relocation agents across London, and they're expanding fast.
Think design led, sustainability-minded, and a genuinely fun place to work. (More on the dogs shortly.)
Made for someone leaving agency life
This one is built for an estate agent who knows the industry inside out but is ready for something different.
You already understand the market, you've got the relationships, and you know how agents think - because you've been one. What you might be ready to leave behind is the weekend grind, the commission-only pressure, and the endless viewings. This is your chance to put everything you know to work on the other side of the deal: helping agents win and sell instructions faster through staging, while building a pipeline that's genuinely yours to shape.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you'll drive referral growth across the client's three core areas - furniture rental, home staging / show homes, and furniture packs - by building real partnerships with the property professionals you already know.
You'll be the bridge between the business and the agency world, turning relationships into a steady flow of staging and rental opportunities.
What you'll be doing
- Tapping into your existing network of estate agents, lettings teams, developers and relocation agents to generate qualified referrals.
- Building and nurturing long term partnerships rather than one-off deals.
- Shaping outreach and partnership strategies based on what you know motivates agents and vendors.
- Working closely with the design, operations and marketing teams to keep the client experience seamless.
- Representing the business at industry events, viewings and networking.
- Reporting on pipeline, deal flow and referrer activity.
About you
- You've spent time in estate agency (sales or lettings) and you're ready to pivot out - or you've already moved into staging, relocation or property BD.
- You've got a network of property contacts and the credibility to open doors.
- You understand the pace, language and expectations of the London property market.
- You're commercially sharp, proactive, and happy owning your own pipeline in a startup environment.
- You're a self-starter who likes building things from the ground up.
What's on offer
- A real salary, not just commission. £40-45k basic plus commission, with a realistic OTE of £55k-£60k
- A work life balance. Hybrid working, with two anchored office days a week.
- A creative, design-led product you'll actually enjoy selling.
- Startup energy - your ideas land, and you genuinely shape how the business grows.
- A dog-friendly office. The team is in Mondays and Thursdays, and dogs come too - so a love of (or at least happiness around) four-legged colleagues is a must!
