The Opportunity
A leading UK residential developer is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a landmark high-rise residential development in Colindale, North London.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the commercial delivery of a large-scale, multi-phase scheme, working alongside an experienced project team to ensure successful financial and contractual management throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving commercial performance, managing risk, and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders on one of London's significant residential developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of a high-rise residential project from procurement through to final account.
- Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and appointment.
- Prepare and review tender documentation and subcontract packages.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Assess and agree subcontractor applications, variations, and final accounts.
- Produce accurate monthly cost reports and commercial forecasts.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Work closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
- Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team where required.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector.
- Strong experience delivering high-rise residential or large-scale mixed-use developments.
- Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial management processes.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially astute with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a fast-paced project environment.
