The Role:
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the Asset Management function with a primary focus on data integrity, reporting, and analytics across a growing UK residential portfolio of across a diverse residential portfolio.
This role is critical to ensuring that accurate, consistent and actionable data underpins all performance decision-making. You will act as the custodian of portfolio data, responsible for building robust reporting frameworks, maintaining high data quality standards, and delivering insight-led analysis to support asset and revenue strategies.
Business analysts play a key role in collecting, analysing and interpreting data to drive business decisions and improve performance
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Data Integrity & Governance
- Own and maintain data accuracy, consistency and completeness across all portfolio systems (e.g. PMS, CRM, finance systems)
- Develop and enforce data standards, definitions, and controls across reporting outputs
- Maintain a centralised data dictionary for all key metrics and KPIs
- Perform regular data audits to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Work closely with IT and operations teams to improve data capture processes and system integration
- Data integrity roles are responsible for ensuring accuracy, identifying inconsistencies, and maintaining reliable datasets across systems.
Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Design and maintain portfolio-wide dashboards (Excel-based with a developing Power Bi Platform)
- Produce:
- Weekly and monthly performance reports
- Executive-level KPI packs
- Asset-level performance summaries
- Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and consistency
- Ensure all reporting aligns with agreed KPI definitions and business logic
Real estate data roles typically involve developing dashboards, preparing reports, and creating tools to monitor performance.
Analytics & Performance Insight
- Analyse key performance metrics including:
- Occupancy, leasing velocity, conversion rates
- Rental income and variance to budget
- Customer and operational performance indicators
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the portfolio
- Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to the Portfolio Performance Manager
- Support scenario analysis, forecasting and ad hoc deep-dives
Data analysts are expected to interpret data, identify trends and provide actionable insights to inform strategy and operations.
Business Partnering
- Act as a key interface between:
- Portfolio Performance
- Asset Management
- Leasing and Operations
- Finance and FP&A
- Translate business requirements into reporting outputs and analytical models
- Support teams in understanding data and improving data literacy across the business
- Align stakeholders on consistent KPI definitions and reporting standards
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Support development and optimisation of:
- Reporting systems and tools
- Data pipelines and integrations (e.g. Yardi, CRM, BI tools)
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, and scalability
- Contribute to building a best-in-class data environment to support portfolio growth
- In real estate environments, analysts often maintain and enhance data systems, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis capability.
