Location: Greater London, covering circa 660 HMO properties, with a base at a central London office (Holborn) one day per week
Salary: £32,000k

About the opportunity
This business is a specialist residential real estate company, investing in value-add opportunities across densely populated areas and building an international portfolio spanning several major European cities. Its London office, established in 2020, has grown steadily since launch and now manages a substantial portfolio of serviced apartments, private rental homes and houses of multiple occupancy (HMO).The role sits within a close-knit social housing and HMO team, reporting to the Operations Manager and working alongside a lettings manager, two property managers and an administrator.
What makes the role exceptional
This is a genuinely varied role, part property inspector, part maintenance operative. You'll be out on the road visiting HMO properties across London, starting at around 7-10 visits a day and building up towards 15 a week as you settle in. No qualifications are required, so the role suits both skilled and unskilled candidates, but you'll need to be equally comfortable with admin and reporting as you are with practical repairs, since this isn't a purely hands-on position.Key responsibilities
- Visit HMO properties across London on a daily basis, inspecting condition and identifying repairs
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance, from handyperson tasks to appliance upkeep
- Complete compliance checks, including fire alarm and emergency lighting testing
- Maintain accurate records and reporting following each property visit
- Oversee tenant check-ins, check-outs and room clearance
- Respond to tenant maintenance queries and inspect contractors' work
- Manage keys, visitor registers and day-to-day site security
- Liaise with property managers and contractors to maintain a professional standard of service
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, essential
- No specific qualifications required, open to skilled or unskilled handymen
- Comfortable balancing hands-on maintenance work with admin and reporting duties
- Understanding of health, safety and environmental practice within an accommodation setting
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and reporting procedures
- Strong communication skills, with a diplomatic and tactful approach to tenant queries
- Confident working independently across multiple sites
- Basic DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
