Chief Financial Officer
Real Estate Development & Investment - UK (with International Growth Ambitions)

Our client is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial real estate development and investment business with a multi-billion-pound pipeline and ambitions to expand internationally. They are seeking an experienced CFO to build the financial infrastructure, capital platform and finance function needed to support their next phase of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Founder & CEO and working closely with the CIO, Chief Construction Officer and wider leadership team, the CFO will take overall responsibility for financial strategy, capital raising, development and investment finance, financial controls, and Board/investor reporting - while also playing a central role in the company's international expansion.

Key areas of focus:

• Financial strategy, planning and scenario modelling
• Capital raising and financing (banks, institutional investors, private capital, family offices)
• Development and investment appraisal, underwriting and portfolio performance
• Group financial controls, management information and KPI reporting
• Board, governance and investor relations
• International expansion - cross-border financing, tax, legal and regulatory considerations
• Building and leading a high-performing finance function

This is a player-coach role: strategic and Board-facing, but hands-on when required.

About You

• Significant senior finance experience (CFO, FD, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance or equivalent)
• Big Four-trained or equivalent (investment banking, private equity or advisory background)
• Strong UK real estate / property development / investment / PE or asset-backed investment experience
• Deep understanding of development finance, investment appraisal and capital structures
• Track record working directly with banks, institutional investors, lenders and/or family offices
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills
• Experience building or scaling a finance function
• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Credible at Board and investor level, with strong commercial judgement

Highly desirable:

• International or cross-border experience, particularly overseas real estate markets or capital raising
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional structures
• Familiarity with Islamic finance or Shariah-compliant investment would be a bonus

You'll need to move quickly, get into the detail when needed, and be genuinely excited about building an international platform from a strong UK base.
