Senior Project Manager

We're working with a growing consultancy who are looking for a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join their team. It's a great opportunity for an ambitious project professional with a solid track record in residential and/or hospitality projects.

You'll take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while helping to bring on junior colleagues. It suits someone who likes taking responsibility, enjoys building long term client relationships, and wants to be part of a collaborative, high performing consultancy.

There's genuine potential to progress into an Associate role over time, based on delivery, leadership and commercial contribution.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead the delivery of multiple projects from feasibility through to completion, managing programme, cost, risk, procurement and governance along the way. Projects need to be delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard, and you'll be relied on to give clients clear, practical advice throughout. Spotting risks early and putting the right mitigations in place will be second nature, as will producing strong reports, programmes and project documentation.

On the client side, you'll build genuine, trusted relationships with clients, consultants and contractors, and act as the main point of contact on your projects. Understanding what your clients actually want to achieve, and making sure the project reflects that, is key. The aim is a level of service good enough that it generates repeat business and referrals.

You'll also play a role in mentoring Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers, sharing knowledge and helping build a strong, collaborative culture across the business. Leading project teams with confidence while still encouraging people to keep improving is part of the job.

On the technical side, you should be comfortable applying recognised project management principles at every stage of delivery, and have solid contract administration knowledge, including JCT and NEC contracts where relevant. Projects need to comply with the right legislation, regulations and best practice, and you'll help keep standards of governance and reporting high.

There's also a business development element. You'll be expected to help grow the business through excellent delivery, look for opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, and get involved with bids and proposals where it makes sense.

What we're looking for

Significant project management experience gained in a construction consultancy or client side environment
Proven delivery of residential and/or hospitality projects
Strong stakeholder and client management skills
Good commercial awareness and decision making
Excellent written and verbal communication
Comfortable managing several projects at once
Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams
Solid programme management and reporting skills
Confidence mentoring more junior team members

It would also help to have chartered status (MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or similar), or be working towards it, along with experience administering NEC contracts and knowledge of JCT forms. A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field is a bonus rather than a requirement.

What success looks like

A strong Senior Project Manager here will deliver with confidence and minimal supervision, build lasting client relationships, and take real ownership of outcomes rather than just managing tasks. They'll support less experienced colleagues, show good commercial judgement, and consistently produce work that reflects well on the business.

Progression

There's a clear route to Associate level, based on capability rather than time served. As your role develops, you'll be expected to grow client relationships, win new business, take on larger and more complex commissions, and start playing a more active leadership role within the consultancy.

What's on offer

Salary of £50,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, support towards further qualifications, ongoing investment in training, and a genuine path for career progression based on merit. You'll get to work on interesting residential and hospitality projects, as part of a team that values quality and professionalism without expecting excessive hours.

Why join

The belief here is simple: exceptional people deliver exceptional projects. Rather than just filling a resource gap, they're looking to invest in experienced professionals who bring real value to clients through technical know how, good judgement and strong service. It's a business genuinely focused on building a high performing team, supporting people's development, and giving talented people a place to build a long term career while keeping a healthy work life balance
