Accounts Payable Manager | Real Estate

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + benefits

deverellsmith is working exclusively with a well-established real estate group to appoint an Accounts Payable Manager. It's a chance to lead a busy AP function, sharpen controls and make a visible impact on a growing finance team.

The role
You'll lead the AP team and own the full purchase-to-pay process across a diverse property portfolio. Day to day, that means:

• Managing and developing a small AP team, setting priorities and making sure deadlines are met.
• Overseeing accurate and timely payment of suppliers and contractors, including property, service charge and capital project invoices.
• Running supplier statement reconciliations, payment runs and month-end accruals.
• Strengthening controls, approval workflows and compliance across multiple entities.
• Leading process improvements and getting the best out of the finance systems.
• Acting as the go-to contact for suppliers, property managers and the wider finance team.

About you

• Proven experience leading an AP or purchase ledger team.
• Real estate, property management or multi-entity experience, which is a strong advantage.
• Confidence with high invoice volumes and tight deadlines.
• A hands-on, organised style, with a drive to improve how things are done.
• Strong systems and Excel skills.
