Commercial Surveyor (RICS / MRICS)
Location: Hertfordshire (3 days office, 2 days home working)
Salary: c. £60,000 base + £10,000-£15,000 annual bonus
About the company
Our client is a long-established, well-regarded property practice with a small team, a loyal client base and a reputation for looking after its staff. Following the recent appointment of a Business Development Manager, new instructions are coming in, and the surveying team needs another experienced pair of hands to be ready for the growth ahead.
The role
This is a hands-on commercial surveying role in a smaller business, where you will be involved in every aspect of the work rather than a single slice of it. The portfolio is centred on high street retail and shopping centres, with some offices and residential above shops, and the company is looking to broaden the asset classes it covers.
You will report to a senior member of the surveying team and handle a varied caseload including:
- Rent reviews and lease renewals
- Managed lettings
- Valuations, including RICS Red Book
- Party wall matters
- Landlord administration and related taxation matters, including heritage tax
About you
- RICS or MRICS accredited
- Solid commercial property experience, ideally retail focused
- Red Book valuation experience
- Experience with MRI Cube
- Based in Hertfordshire or within easy reach of the Hertfordshire office
- Able to hit the ground running and work independently in a hands-on environment
- A good sense of humour and a team-first attitude. Culture matters here
Those who have run their own practice and want to return to working under an established brand are encouraged to apply. There is scope for additional incentive for candidates who would bring their own client base.
