Technical Administrator / Office Manager
Location: Woolwich, London
Salary: £35,000 equivalent (day rate), paid weekly
Contract: Weekly rolling contract, minimum 12 months, with a real route to a permanent role
Start: Immediate
Start your career in architecture and construction
Want to get into technical design and the built environment, but haven't found the right way in? This is it.
We're recruiting for an architecture and construction practice that is growing and opening new offices and sites. They're looking for someone early in their career who is keen to learn, rather than a seasoned professional. If you're a recent architecture graduate, or you're curious about construction and know how to work with people, you'll be given the training to build a real career here.
The role
This is a hybrid of technical support and office management, split roughly:
Technical administration
- Support the technical team with their workload
- Upload, organise and move drawings and project documentation
- Get hands-on exposure to live design and technical work, learning from experienced people who want to teach you
Office and meeting room management
- Look after three meeting rooms, keeping them ready and well run
- Make sure rooms are set up and presentable when directors and visitors come in
- Be a friendly, reliable presence on the main office floor
Why this role
- A genuine way in. No industry experience needed. You'll be taught by a team happy to share what they know.
- Progression. The company is launching new offices and sites, so there's real scope to move into a permanent role and grow with it.
- Long-term stability. At least 12 months, based on a major Woolwich development with a three-year timeline.
- A great team. You'll sit on the main floor, right in the middle of the action.
- Flexibility. Five days a week in the office, with a little flexibility for one work-from-home day.
Who we're looking for
- A recent graduate in architecture or a related subject, or anyone keen to break into construction
- A good communicator who gets on easily with people at every level, from the technical team to directors
- Organised, proactive and reliable, with an eye for detail
- Comfortable with computers and happy picking up new software
- Eager to learn and take on more responsibility over time
Open to all backgrounds. Attitude and enthusiasm matter more than experience.
