deverellsmith releases comprehensive 2025 Salary Guide & Trends Report for the real estate industry

LONDON, April 28, 2025 — deverellsmith, a leading talent solutions provider for the real estate industry, today announced the release of its highly anticipated "Salary Guide & Trends Report 2025," offering crucial insights into compensation trends, hiring patterns, and workforce priorities across the entire property lifecycle.

"As we navigate through 2025, it's clear that the real estate industry remains resilient, with global markets continuing to expand despite economic challenges," said Andrew Deverell-Smith, CEO and Founder of deverellsmith & Hintel.

"The shift from the 'Great Resignation' to the 'Great Stay' has created a more employer-favourable landscape, but hiring demand is still high, especially in specialised roles."

Key findings from the report include:

  • Entry-level salaries have risen modestly, with negotiator positions starting in the mid-£20,000s and graduate roles reaching £28,000-£30,000.

  • Development and acquisition sectors have experienced salary stagnation due to cautious investment and planning constraints, while specialised technical roles still command premium rates with increases up to £15,000.

  • The Renters Reform Bill is reshaping commission structures in lettings from upfront to monthly payments, creating an unintended retention benefit as professionals accumulate guaranteed future income.

  • Professional priorities continue to evolve, with 41% of employees now favouring higher pay, while work-life balance considerations have decreased from 54% in 2024 to 39% in 2025.

Industry experts anticipate a significant market shift within 12-24 months as projects advance through gateway approvals. This could potentially create increased competition for top talent and drive substantial wage increases across sectors that have remained relatively stable during this period of economic uncertainty.

The full "Salary Guide & Trends Report 2025" is now available and includes detailed salary information across multiple real estate disciplines, including investment, land and development, construction, sales and lettings, property management, and more.
