Who is REM Limited?

REM provide property development and asset-management services to investors in Real Estate across a mixed-use portfolio in London. They currently manage an investment portfolio of premium lettable space and a multi-million pound development pipeline. Most notably, REM manage “The Shard”, Western Europe’s tallest building, which also includes a residential development project “Shard Place”.

What was the situation?

The Head of Marketing at REM approached Anna McGeorge, Account Manager, in 2021 in need of more resource in their marketing team. Anna worked closely with the Head of Marketing to successfully place a Marketing Manager with a residential focus, to support the existing team and to work on delivering Shard Place.

​Were there any challenges?

The candidate market was tricky at the time, although the volume of people looking was relatively strong, those that were committed to leaving was a much smaller pool. Anna unfortunately experienced some candidates pull out at interview stage, but the process was still able to run relatively smoothly.

What was the methodology?

Anna met with the Head of Marketing to take the brief for the role, and then proceeded to go to market through her network, referrals, and LinkedIn. Anna presented the Head of Marketing with a shortlist, and then interviews commenced. The process was relatively speedy given the urgency to hire someone into this role. Two candidates presented at final interview stage, both available to start immediately, and following this a final decision was made and the candidate started shortly after.

What was the outcome?

Anna successfully placed a candidate and helped find their dream role.
