The Project: This project involves a grade-listed building, with cut-and-carve experience being essential for the role. The refurbishment will focus on transforming the space into a modern commercial office environment. Role Overview: As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the number two to a highly experienced Commercial Lead and will take on significant responsibility in managing the day-to-day activities of the commercial team. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the performance of the team, ensuring efficient cost management, and supporting the delivery of the project within budget and on schedule. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead and manage the commercial team, including a QS, and AQS.</li><li>Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.</li><li>Oversee the day-to-day commercial management of the project.</li><li>Assist with cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.</li><li>Monitor project performance to ensure costs are controlled and targets are met.</li><li>Collaborate with the wider project team to ensure the successful delivery of the project.</li><li>Manage and negotiate contracts, variations, and claims.</li><li>Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.</li><li>Report directly to the Commercial Lead and support them with strategic decision-making.</li></ul>We're Looking For:<ul><li>Extensive experience with cut-and-carve,.</li><li>Main Contractor background as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager</li><li>A BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related field.</li><li>Strong experience with cost management, procurement, and contract administration.</li><li>Excellent communication and leadership skills.</li></ul> #217 #121

Senior Quantity Surveyor 

We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction firm known for delivering large-scale, high-profile projects across London. The company has built a strong reputation for handling complex phased regeneration schemes and high-profile developments. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play an essential role in supporting various commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle. This includes ensuring compliance with company procedures and contributing to the smooth management of project costs. The Project: Cut &amp; Carve, Office and Fitout, value £60m Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor, and Managing Quantity Surveyor in various commercial tasks.</li><li>Assist in the procurement of Sub-Contractors, Consultants, and Suppliers.</li><li>Help with the analysis of tender returns from Sub-Contractors, Consultants, and Suppliers.</li><li>Authorise interim and final payments for Sub-Contractors, Consultants, and Suppliers, subject to prior approval from the senior quantity surveying team and in line with contractual arrangements.</li><li>Prepare, coordinate, and process labour-only payments.</li><li>Conduct building work take-offs, measurements, and scheduling, as well as prepare bills of quantities for procurement and sub-letting.</li></ul>We're Looking For:<ul><li>A BSc in Quantity Surveying or related degree</li><li>Strong understanding of JCT Contracts.</li><li>Solid commercial knowledge.</li><li>At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction industry.</li></ul>

Quantity Surveyor

We are currently assisting a residential construction contractor with the recruitment of an experienced Buidling Services. The role will involve working closely with various stakeholders to ensure that M&amp;E aspects are efficiently managed and delivered on time.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Early involvement in the procurement process, reviewing and assessing tender bids from subcontractors to ensure they meet the Employer's Requirements (ERs) and Stage 3 design specifications.</li><li>Working with subcontractors to select the most cost-effective and technically suitable products and services for M&amp;E installations.</li><li>Reviewing and recommending sustainable products and materials for M&amp;E installations, ensuring they are available for long-term maintenance.</li><li>Assessing product specifications, considering environmental impact, and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality.</li><li>Promoting sustainable product sourcing and installation practices, contributing to the project's energy efficiency and long-term environmental goals.</li><li>Collaborating with the design team and sustainability consultants to implement green building principles and meet sustainability standards.</li><li>Coordinating with M&amp;E consultants to ensure smooth project execution and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Organising and leading workshops with subcontractors to address technical issues, project requirements, and concerns.</li><li>Ensuring that the M&amp;E consultant's work complies with planning, building control, and warranty provider requirements.</li><li>Advising on the selection and appointment of M&amp;E consultants, ensuring clear contract terms and scope of work that meet project needs.</li><li>Conducting site visits to monitor subcontractor performance and ensure M&amp;E installations are progressing as planned.</li><li>Reporting on progress, highlighting potential issues, and proposing solutions to keep the project on schedule.</li><li>Managing the RFI process, ensuring all queries from subcontractors and stakeholders are addressed in a timely manner to avoid project delays.</li><li>Overseeing the commissioning process and reviewing documentation to ensure all systems are installed and functioning correctly.</li><li>Ensuring the smooth handover of M&amp;E systems, with all necessary certifications and documentation provided.</li></ul>Required Qualifications &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Solid experience in M&amp;E coordination, preferably within the residential construction sector.</li><li>Proven track record in procurement, tendering, and managing subcontractor relationships.</li><li>Knowledge of building regulations, sustainability standards, and energy-efficient practices.</li><li>Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams.</li><li>Experience working with M&amp;E consultants and managing multi-disciplinary teams.</li></ul> #217 #121
